Most posters aren't made specifically for collecting. That is, they're primarily a form of disposably advertising, which is why they're written on, folded, ripped, etc.

Bleed-thru refers to being able to see marking made on the back of a poster on the front of the movie poster after the ink (grease pencil, marker, etc.) soaks into the paper and 'bleeds-through.'
