CARMIKE CINEMAS RETAINS DELOITTE & TOUCHE USA AS INDEPENDENT AUDITORS
COLUMBUS, GA – September 19, 2006 -- Carmike Cinemas, Inc. (NASDAQ: CKEC) today
announced it has appointed Deloitte & Touche USA LLP as its independent audit firm, replacing PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, who recently resigned. The decision to retain Deloitte & Touche USA was approved by Carmike’s audit committee.
“We are pleased to be working with Deloitte & Touche USA, and we believe they have the
resources to provide Carmike Cinemas with highly reliable review and audit services,”
commented Richard B. Hare, Carmike’s Chief Financial Officer. “We look forward to the
