Heralds are smaller movie posters used as inexpensive ads from 1910 to the 1970s. They're usually sized 5x7 or 6x9 and contain pics of the movie stars and general information about the movie.

Movie Theatre owners sometimes copied the heralds in large quantities to hand out on street corners.

Because heralds were mass produced and sometimes handed out directly to the public, they're not as valuable as other movie posters, but they're sought after by some collectors because of their lower price.
