A commercial poster generally refers to a poster that is sold directly to the public.
One way to look at the difference in so-called commercial posters is the purpose for which they were made. Movie posters put out by studios are designed to make you *want to see* the movie.
Commercial posters are generally designed for people who have *already seen the movie*.
So how do you tell the difference between a mass produced commercial poster (with little to no appreciabe value) and a genuine movie poster from a movie studio? Good question!
Commercial posters are normally 24x36 or smaller. Genuine movie posters are 27x41 or 27x40.
Another difference is that commercial posters will usually have a 'reorder number' on the border or somewhere else on the poster. Genuine movie posters won't have this info.
