A campaign book (or campaign kit) is similar to a pressbook or presskit, but it generally had more information included.

In the early days of movie making, campaign books were elaborate things, with the movie studios wanting to make it as easy as they could for movie theatres to promote movies.

As the years went on, campaign books (campaign kits) became less elaborate, and started to be known as a showman's manual.

In today's day and age, the pressbook (press book) or presskit (press kit) has replaced the elaborate campaign book.
