Bleed-thru refers to being able to see marking made on the back of a poster on the front of the movie poster after the ink (grease pencil, marker, etc.) soaks into the paper and 'bleeds-through.'
There are a lot of reasons a theatre owner may have written on the back of the poster - notes, showtimes, etc. If the poster is on a window, facing out, it can be a convenient place to tape notes or even write them on the back of the poster.
It's recommended that you contact a professional before you try to correct bleed-thrus on your movie posters.
