Black Cast Posters

In the United States in the early 20th century, minorities were often only given stereotypical roles in major motion pictures. This eventually began to change a little as black actors began to produce their own movies. They often worked as a stereotype on a big movie to raise money to fund their own efforts.

In the early days of the black cast movies, having very little money to shoot the money, there was very little professional advertising for the movies. As time progressed, though, so called 'black cast posters' started to become more common place.
